This LitLab miniature presents Ray McGillivray's continuous 1923 Weird Tales story without invented reader chapters. The text keeps the original movement of the magazine tale: a watch on the Bo-hai sands, a wounded stranger, a jade clue, a descent into hidden chambers, and the strange bargain around the forty jars.

The illustrations unlock from the story's own turning points. Character plates, maps, scenes, recaps, medallions, and the story-system plate are meant to help you hold the tale's geography and relationships while preserving the order of discovery. Some period language and adventure-fiction assumptions remain part of the source.
