G. A. Wells's "The Ghoul and the Corpse" is a frame tale of Arctic isolation, prospecting fever and a piece of evidence that refuses to fit the narrator's disbelief.

This LitLab miniature begins at the story's heading in the March 1923 issue of Weird Tales and stops before David R. Solomon's "Fear." Its plates follow the line from Aurora Bay to Tukuvuk country: the hungry arrival, the ivory knife, the blue glacier, the winter shack and the final question.

The edition keeps the horror restrained. The revived body is treated as uncanny human terror rather than spectacle; the visual proof belongs to ice, fire, testimony and the dark blade.
